رصدت وكالة "ناسا" تركيباً جغرافياً مريخياً شبيهاً بشخصية تلفزيونية محبوبة لدى الأطفال، ضمن السلسلة الشهيرة "The Muppets".
وعرفت الدمية المتحركة المعروفة باسم "بيكر"، بأنها من أكثر الشخصيات هوسا بالعلم ضمن السلسلة التلفزيونية، وقد أظهرت لقطات رصدتها ناسا تكوينا في القطب الجنوبي للكوكب الأحمر، شبيها للغاية بهذه الشخصية الشهيرة.
والتقطت الصورة بواسطة "HiRISE"، وهي كاميرا فائقة الدقة اعتمدت لاستكشاف المريخ بالتفصيل منذ عام 2006.
وقد حصلت ناسا على الصورة هذا الأسبوع، وقام العلماء في مختبر القمر والكواكب في جامعة أريزونا بمشاركة الصورة على "تويتر".
وأرفقت الصورة بتعليق جاء فيه: "في حين أن العاصفة الترابية التي تجتاح الكوكب بأكمله قد حجبت الكثير من السطح، إلا أننا ما نزال قادرين على الحصول على بعض الصور الجديدة للمنطقة القطبية (247 كلم فوق السطح)".
